That makes sense, thanks.

Karl, the forged alloys only come in satin black from factory. Won't stop you getting them painted in whatever you want after of course.

Back to the options bit (thanks for splitting the thread Pete):

Does anyone know if the 'alternative colour wheels' option includes the forged alloy wheels? Or just the standard cast alloy wheels?

I'm assuming you wouldn't want to have your Carbon wheels painted gold, but you never know :o

Asking for a friend...

New thread added to discuss a new dash config for the 4.

Excellent Rob.

I guess the million £ question is... Who would like to volunteer themselves to contact AIM, or who would the Club like to volunteer knowing they have the right level of expertise to ask the right questions etc?

I am sure if we pursue this in the right manner Ariel would be open to our suggestions. After all it will surely help to sell more units... And if there are options to choose between a few different configuration layouts 2-3 maybe that would even more of a USP for them.

The cost shouldn’t be great as AIM give you suitable displays for free - just a case of lifting those central graphics to replace the donuts.

But yes, I’d pay a nominal sum for it :-)

I think we should lobby Ariel with our suggestions. Whom ever was responsible for the final decision on the current screen layout when there are so many variations out there clearly didn't realise at the time, in reality there are better options more suited to loyal customers.

I would suspect there would be a cost implication to make any changes. Question is, would Club members be willing to cover costs so everyone can get a free upgrade? Of course depending on the cost. Maybe in the first instance a Club member with technical knowledge should reach out to the suppler to ascertain if a layout configuration is possible and at what cost? the we can go from there...

We should all email Ariel asking for it :-)

YES YES YES. This!

Please someone work this out!

Having the circular bits on the stock screen just wastes space and the figures are not large at all for the speedo or the rpm. 2 digits with a decimal place just looks rubbish for the rev counter. It all just looks wrong to me. That stock dash layout is a million times better!

I think amending the dash layout is worth a thread of its own. Its something well worth some detailed discussion. I'd happily pay for a better layout tbh. Ideally with a much larger power graph type rev counter centrally showing rpm and how close you are to the red line. With a digital speedo and all the other stuff neatly arranged around the edges.

Which ironically is the layout of the Atom 3 / Nomad dash.

This is a standard mxs dash layout too:

I asked, they won't do it. So the only way is to hack it. Tbh you can easily screw it up if you are not careful, but we should be given the choice. We are locked out of some awesome technology. If you could edit it you could create different dash's for different days of the week if you wanted.

Agree, there are far better stock dash's for the mxsl which is what this is. The speed is numerical. The problem are those little donuts, like a donut chart, they belong on a Excel sheet not a dash. A regular linear rev counter would be far better.

That is a shame - plenty of space for a bigger rev counter and to have speed as a numerical display.
