Did you make any progress on whether you can get insurance for an Atom that is not garaged, it sounds unlikely, but woudl be good to know before I start ringing round ..
I haven't checked yet - still getting my finances in order unfortunately. I am very interested to hear what you find out though. Keep us updated! Good luck. :)

I've just renewed my Atom 4 with A-Plan. Very reasonable, and down a bit from last year at £700. Includes track day cover, and one additional driver. I've been thrilled with their service. Now, if only I could get the Ace insured as reasonably.

Yep and very quick to put a specified track day onto the policy

I called A-Plan Thatcham this afternoon, spoke to Richard, who saved me a nice chunk of my renewal quote.

Add me as another to recommend them.

Random number generator then .. probably because they have no real data for the AA4 and wont use the AA2-3.5 info? Or just a new policy rather than continuing the old? Cant be a safety or hp thing? Or just replacement value?

My other brand new 'sports' car was £1500 on the cheapest standard policy and £700 on a Trackday policy (6 free trackdays)(?!#) including my other half!!!!

The previous 5yo version was only £250 on a standard policy, but because the value of the new had doubled, they couldn't insure it hence the 6 fold increase. Similar hp, same location and mileage.

Go figure.

Thanks for that will take a look once car due as like you will do a lot more Trackdays than the 5 allowed so £55 a go sounds reasonable for piece of mind
I normally just run without

Hi Stuart,

I was with REIS for my 3.5 and was about the same as you for my old price. The new one came in at £820 for £70k value on the 4. I went with Classicline in the end at £630 plus £55 per track day. Also, they cover the whole value of the car on track but REIS now only insure it at £50k even though the excess remains at 10% £7k!)

REIS would be good value for 6 trackdays but as I intend to do double digits, Classicline end up way more reasonable.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Stu

Has anyone had fun insuring an Atom 4
I have had an Atom 2 then 3 then 3.5R
All insured with REIS
I have 12 years NCD and my renewal for my 3.5R was £330 inc 5 Trackdays
That was with a car value of £80k and all modifications to 500bhp declared
However the car was sold and due to be collected so before I renewed I queried if the Atom 4 would be ok to cover in a couple of months when it turns up
Broker explained the way the existing insurance package worked is that they have negotiated with underwriters that max increase each year was 5% which is why my premium had gone up to £330 (it was cheaper last year)
The Atom 4 would be classed as a new quote so would be a completely different price
Quote came back at £1483!!!
Give me a clue is this what all 4 owners are now paying
Cheers Stuart

Every time I insured my Atom (and now the times I've done the Nomad) (and I'm not in a particularly high crime area), it required it to be garaged.

They wouldn't entertain anything apart from a garage. (Didn't have to be brick though).
